I found it in some obscure Reddit thread (buried in the manner of 7 clarification deep below an ad for crypto). Its not on the App Store, but their site walks you through a workaround. Sketchy? A little. But it works.
Pros:

No watermarks.

Saves in HD. Legit 1080p+.

Audio stays in sync (youd be amazed how rare that is).

Cons:

Annoying setup.

Sometimes fails silently, as soon as it acts later than it saved but nada.

Interface looks similar to Windows XP met a MySpace theme.

Still... its my go-to. I even have a shortcut widget.

Why doesnt Instagram just let us complete this? I mean, TikTok lets you save once audio (sorta), but IG acts in the manner of Reels are nuclear establishment codes. Wild.

But here's the thingI cant establish if its real. I downloaded the APK, ran it on a burner phone (dont consider me), and it kinda worked? Downloads were clean. But my antivirus app threw a tantrum.
If youre adventurous (and paranoid), try it. Just dont blame me if your phone starts ordering pizza on its own.

Real Talk: Should You Even Be do something This?
Ugh. Im torn. upon one hand, I get it. We want to save that reel. exploit it to friends. Watch offline. maybe meme it later.
But creators deserve credit. correspondingly here's my rule: I lonely download Reels if Im using them personally. Never reposting. Never monetizing. Just hoarding, tbh.
